” Life always begins anew “
“Man is a microcosm in the macrocosm. He lives in a field of permanently varying forces. His health is harmony with the surrounding cosmic and natural forces—his disease, physical or mental, is disharmony with them . . . . . . Eternal youth is the allsided absorption of the best sources of harmony, energy and knowledge from the Cosmic Ocean, Terrestrial Nature and Universal Culture.”
–Professor Edmond Bordeaux Szekely

THE FOUR CATEGORIES OF BIOGENIC NUTRITION: Terminology of The New Dietetics
The term Biogenics is derived from Greek, implying “life-generating.” This new terminology was derived in 1977 by Professor Edmond B. Szekely, in conclusion of a fully documented thirty-three year Scientific study 1929-72, that became known as the “Great Experiment.” (in Professor’s own words) “. . . . from indisputable laboratory findings and clinical statistics it became increasingly evident that the classical proteincentric classification of foods, derived from their content of calories, protein, starch, fats and carbohydrates, must be replaced with a new and revolutionary method of classification, centered around the different degrees of life-generating and cell-renewal capacities of different foods . . . . . ” (the following material is from the “The Chemistry of Youth” by Edmond B. Sezkely, 1977 Academy Books-Publishers)
.
BIOGENIC– “life-generating”
This biochemical term refers to natural substances called “living foods.” This includes such food as seeds, whole grains, nuts and legumes that when germinated, have the biochemical capacity to mobilize their dormant life forces and thus virtualize their potentialities to create and generate new life — thus leading to cell-renewal.
.
BIOACTIVE– “life-sustaining”
This term refers to those natural, unprocessed foods, such as uncooked fresh fruits and vegetables which, through unable to generate a “new,” living organisms (as biogenic seeds were able to do), still were capable of sustaining perfectly the already existing life forces in the human organism. Both Biogenic and Bioactive foods are able to synthesize entirely new compounds and substances, destroying biostatic and biocidic substances and microbes. Accelerating cell renewal, they stimulate the natural “self-healing” process (“vis medicatrix naturae”) known to the ancient Greek Physicians.
.
BIOSTATIC– “life-slowing”
These foods are not “life-generating” or “life-sustaining,” but rather slow down the life processes in the organism, accelerating the process of aging. They include all cooked foods and food which are not fresh. In contrast to the first two categories, this category does not avoid the destruction of enzymes, the deterioration of the quality of certain amino acids and protein foods, as well as the destruction of vitamins, and the creation of toxic substances of fats through heat.
.
BIOCIDIC– “life-destroying”
Finally, this last category includes all foods which contain harmful substances, such as chemicals, additives, adulterants, preservatives, etc. . . . and which have been refined and processed.
